Queensland Health

The Observer's mother continues to be wonderfully cared for at a major Hospital.
Excellent care and facilities, and sensitive caring staff have been the order of the day for over 2 weeks.

It is greatly appreciated.

I won tickets to 'Little Women' at the Harvest Rain Theatre

the Yoga teacher and teenager will be going along.

A movie based on a small but potentially significant moment in the life of Jane Austen.
If you are familiar with her works then the film will be richer and more entertaining.
Seemingly her world turned and changed on small events; we can but guess what her life might have been.

However, with a different outcome the world
of Literature would be a poorer place.

Not as strong as the recent 'Miss Potter' movie (though with similar themes)
however given the limited documentation
on Jane Austen's life the film holds up well.

We are given to speculate as to the genisis of her stories
characters and phrases.

Anything that causes cogitation can only be good.

The Tsunami we didn't have.

A tsunami warning helps sort out what is important and what is not.
Bogart Bear perched up high and waiting.
Nothing happened....the Observer returned some 20 minutes later.
However it was a good exercise to assess preparedness.

After pouring over the instructions - which were in English - with the aid of a torch,
screwdrivers and lots of laughter we found we had built a filing cabinet.

The teenager produced an amazing disposable bubble -
we were all fascinated
while it remained inflated.

In the end everything was well cooked and very delicious.

It was very windy but we found a BBQ away from the crowds.
We all had fun, talking laughing
eating a typical Aussie BBQ.
